Like it?!

For some reason I feel the need to explain... explain why we talk so much about WW and also why we checkin @ the gym on FB. The simple answer is we get motivation and encouragement from it when people Like it or comment on either! Call it selfish and\or annoying, but we appreciate when it's acknowledged. This is hard work ya know? There's nothing easy about mustering up the willpower to get our butts to the gym and there's nothing easy about not blowing it and just eating everything in sight with no resistance! But man is it fun, but boy does it pack on the lbs! haha ;)

Anyhow, back to the point. I realize some may view it as mentioned above, but please know it is for encouragement and motivation when we update about it. It's sort of our way of "calling out for help" if you will.

Trying to keep up!

Well if Danielle can blog more frequently being she is a Mommy then we have no excuse! haha

Last night was our weigh in and I have to say again I'm very proud of us. While Nicole maintained I did lose 1lb. I still view this as an accomplishment for BOTH of us. In my opinion, not gaining should be viewed as such.

Total:
Jen -17.4lb
Nicole -15lb

We had by far one of the BEST weeks to date! We both went to gym 4 times and ate at home practically all week with 1 night out. We feel really good about it which hopefully helps us roll into yet another great week. We have officially been doing WW for 12 weeks - another accomplishment. Like I've said before consistency is one of our weaknesses, but I'm hoping this is the start of changing that! :)

The boys are still doing great. In fact, we've been leaving them out of their crates unattended a little more. For instance yesterday, I was on lunch from 11-1130 then Nicole was on lunch from 12-1 and during that nice little 40 min window which includes the time it took for her to get home, I left them out. When she got there - they were good boys!!

We decided that in this crazy busy life we needed to set aside a single night that we will not double book and therefore is just for us. Our first Tuesday night - aka Our night went exceptionally well. We did a lot of Baby Sheldon talking and we both woke up feeling SO great and SO excited for what's to come in the future! Stay tuned but don't get too excited, we are still a few months out!

I will give myself some props for just a moment... the same time (Nov 1st) we started WW we decided to get me on a Starbucks budget. I have been below budget by 50% or more and we are starting to really see the impact in our bank account! I'm spending roughly 80 per month vs. the usual 180 or so. We budgeted 160 for me, so again mad props to me! :) I intend on keeping it that way and also give props to WW because without WW I'd probably still be drinking those $5 Venti Caramel machiatto's! And if you thought of me when you heard Starbucks is coming out with Trenta, I'm not surprised! I've received a few texts and comments from people who had! Although, I think that's TOO big! HA annnnd that's what she said! ;)

Ok, enough already! ;)

Well we've heard it quite a few times, it's been since December 8th since our last update! Okay okay, here it is...

We have a new addition to our Sheldon household! His name is Logan and he is so sweet, so much fun and a perfect fit for us! He is 1yr 4 months old and has tons of energy! He is keeping Duncan young with how playful he is and that was our #1 reason in even wanting another puppy. They play tug-o-war NONSTOP and we cannot get enough of it! I've probably said this before, but I can't say it enough, we feel like we hit the lotto with these two boys! They are perfect in our eyes and are a constant joy in our home! Nicole and I are fortunate to be able to come home on our lunch breaks and it really helps break up the day when we get to come home to them. Here are some pics of our handsome good boys:

Sack of potato's after play day!
Weight Watchers = WW: As of last Tuesday it is GOING GREAT! Better than expected and we still anticipate much more success than we have already accomplished. Nicole was at -15lbs and I was @ -16.4lbs. Our next goal\competition is for 20lbs and we are both inching closer to that this week! We have re-introduced the gym into our routine and cannot believe how good it makes us feel and the assistance it provides, when we go, to our weight loss! Funny how that works huh? I think we're just as guilty as either being in denial and\or being too lazy to make time for it to allow it to work like it should! Anyhow, WW and gym are proving to be successful.

And if most of you didn't already know, this is not only for the lifestyle change, but rather to get healthy, as healthy as possible before we try to add yet another addition to our household!! This time, a baby, not a puppy. haha! We are keeping our eyes on the prize as we prepare for this expansion and getting healthy is definitely step 1 for us! Keep the encouragement coming, we can use all we can get.

Here are a few more pictures to help capture our pups & the fun they've been having! And who could forget just how beautiful and how much fun our niece Blair is?! ;)

Sleepy Blair!

Proud Auntie Nicole!

Auntie Nicole wants to chime in to, Jen left this part for me and I wanted to add this BEFORE anyone saw it but you are too quick Mom!!

The birth of little baby Blair was the highlight of our holiday season this year and she continues to have us all wrapped around her finger, as she will forever! I was so excited to get to be in the delivery room when she was born but I really had no idea how magical and wonderful it would be. Danielle did SO great in labor and Jason was the perfect labor coach! I was amazed all day/night at their strength and connection. The whole experience meant the world to me and I am so thankful that I got to be there to welcome Blair into the world. I love her so much and I can't wait to have that experience for myself, I know Jen will be just as great a coach as Jason!!

Holiday Check in

So much to do so little time..  and I'm sick on top of that! A nice sore throat and head cold decided to settle in yesterday and has so far kicked my butt. Tonight I'm feeling better thanks to Cold Eze and Airborne which are loaded with vitamins. I'm determined to kick it by the weekend. It will either consist of Danielle going into labor and having a beautiful baby girl or going to Clovis to attend another wonderful year of our family tradition Bake Day! Either way, it's going to be one to remember, that's for sure.

Weight Watchers is going better than expected and we're so pleased to be able to say that. We had a bet, first one to 10lbs wins a professional massage. I won the bet, but not without a fight from my lovely wife, Nicole! I reached my 5% goal in winning this bet @ 11.8lbs in 5 weeks, 6 weigh-ins total. Nicole is doing very well and near the same @ 9.8lbs. We are working very hard and it's paying off. Consistency is key, like I've always said. So here's to consistency! :)

Work for me has been just insanely busy, but I love every minute of it. It is stressful and fast-paced, but just the environment for me. I'm bummed I'm sick, but focusing on getting better so I can get back quickly. As for Nicole's work, it's just steady right now. This is a bit of a slow time for them in comparison to the rest of the year.

Okay the Nyquil is setting in, time for bed.

Lifestyle changes

Changing your lifestyle isn't exactly easy, especially when you've failed at it a few times. Well this time I think the challenge will be different. How many times can one say that? haha The good thing about us is that we always keep trying! No matter what it is, food, gym, finances etc.. we always seem to pull ourselves together to be a terrific team. This time our big lifestyle change is food. We have joined Weight Watchers and are loving it! We have been to 2 meetings, our first weigh in, been tracking for about 10 days and everything is moving right along. Both of our initial goals are to reach 5% - we'll let you know when we get there! :)

This in turn is also helping us financially. We're buying groceries and eating at home! What a concept! haha Nicole has been very creative in the kitchen; cooking us wonderful low point meals! The variety is awesome! Planning is also a key step. Nicole did some meal planning for us for the next 10 days or so and we grocery shopped based off that. This will help the "what do you want for dinner?" "I dunno, what do you want?" conversations that all too often turn into going out to grab something!

We're really optimistic about this program as you can see. We're embracing this change and are looking forward to seeing the results. However, we still need all the strength and encouragement we can get from our friends and family!
