Holiday Check in

So much to do so little time..  and I'm sick on top of that! A nice sore throat and head cold decided to settle in yesterday and has so far kicked my butt. Tonight I'm feeling better thanks to Cold Eze and Airborne which are loaded with vitamins. I'm determined to kick it by the weekend. It will either consist of Danielle going into labor and having a beautiful baby girl or going to Clovis to attend another wonderful year of our family tradition Bake Day! Either way, it's going to be one to remember, that's for sure.

Weight Watchers is going better than expected and we're so pleased to be able to say that. We had a bet, first one to 10lbs wins a professional massage. I won the bet, but not without a fight from my lovely wife, Nicole! I reached my 5% goal in winning this bet @ 11.8lbs in 5 weeks, 6 weigh-ins total. Nicole is doing very well and near the same @ 9.8lbs. We are working very hard and it's paying off. Consistency is key, like I've always said. So here's to consistency! :)

Work for me has been just insanely busy, but I love every minute of it. It is stressful and fast-paced, but just the environment for me. I'm bummed I'm sick, but focusing on getting better so I can get back quickly. As for Nicole's work, it's just steady right now. This is a bit of a slow time for them in comparison to the rest of the year.

Okay the Nyquil is setting in, time for bed.

Lifestyle changes

Changing your lifestyle isn't exactly easy, especially when you've failed at it a few times. Well this time I think the challenge will be different. How many times can one say that? haha The good thing about us is that we always keep trying! No matter what it is, food, gym, finances etc.. we always seem to pull ourselves together to be a terrific team. This time our big lifestyle change is food. We have joined Weight Watchers and are loving it! We have been to 2 meetings, our first weigh in, been tracking for about 10 days and everything is moving right along. Both of our initial goals are to reach 5% - we'll let you know when we get there! :)

This in turn is also helping us financially. We're buying groceries and eating at home! What a concept! haha Nicole has been very creative in the kitchen; cooking us wonderful low point meals! The variety is awesome! Planning is also a key step. Nicole did some meal planning for us for the next 10 days or so and we grocery shopped based off that. This will help the "what do you want for dinner?" "I dunno, what do you want?" conversations that all too often turn into going out to grab something!

We're really optimistic about this program as you can see. We're embracing this change and are looking forward to seeing the results. However, we still need all the strength and encouragement we can get from our friends and family!

A long overdue update..

Life in the Kimpel-Sheldon household has been steady rollin'! Just working away and filling any spare time we have with our wonderful friends and family. Last weekend was Danielle's baby shower and I, Nicole, had a great time planning it with Janae. We had a blast shopping, and it turned out so good! Thanks for all your help Janae!! And Mom too you were right there with us even though you had one the weekend before, we are grateful for your help as well!

Lately we have really been enjoying watching Jon, Jen's little brother, play football for Oakmont High School, he is SOOO good and we are so proud of him!!

On a work note, and this is so exciting, Jen got a promotion! She is now a Senior Analyst!! It actually happened shortly after we got back from our Honeymoon but since we are crappy bloggers we hadn't mentioned it yet! I am so proud of her, she has worked really really hard for this and I am so glad that she is being recognized for it! Congrats Jen!

We've been laying a little low as we start preparing for that "next chapter"... we're both excited for it, we just have our work cut out for us. We have goals for our health as well as financially before we make that next step.

We can hardly believe the Holidays are upon us. We're really looking forward to the family time this time of year brings! Especially since there will be a new little one added to the family this year!! We CAN NOT wait for Sproutette to be born! We can't wait to hear her name, we can't wait to see her precious little face and we can't wait to hold her in our arms! We also can't wait to see Jason and Danielle as parents, they are going to be so amazing!!

Married life is the best. It's so amazing and it still feels a little surreal. We are officially registered Domestic Partners, that was exciting! This allows Nicole to be on my benefits, woohoo! Next up, Nicole's name change! This might be a complicated and fairly expensive process, as the DMV will allow a name change with a Domestic Partnership but it is unclear, and unlikely, that the Social Security Administration will. This will take a few phone calls to find out. Stay tuned!

As for Duncan, he isn't loving this weather so much because it doesn't allow for much play time; but he still gets a little indoor Frisbee toss here and there! ;) He is so cute, every time we come home for lunch he meets us at the door with his Frisbee. We also run him up and down the hallway with the laser, it's the cutest thing you've ever seen. I am sure the downstairs neighbor loves it too! ;)

Sorry for the large delay in updates! We promise to be better!!

Wedded bliss! Sorry just can't help it!

There are no words that could possibly describe our wedding and all it meant to us! The memories will stay embedded in our minds and hearts as the greatest time of our life! We are sooooo blessed! The overwhelmingly amount of love and support in the air around us was more than we could have ever dreamed of! So humbling! We truly feel so grateful and believe we have THE best friends and family! Huge thank you to all of you who made our day as special and perfect as it was.
We have posted a select few of the beautiful pictures on our Facebook. We're so happy with them and there are more to come!
Let's talk about our honeymoon for a minute.... A-mazing! Sooo relaxing, romantic and simply the best. It was so beautiful in CuraƧao and we highly recommend it to anyone! Again, pics have been posted! The snorkeling, couples massage, beach time, drinks and Oceanfront room aka "the best room" were just what we had hoped for!!!
Now we're home and yes married life is different! We both feel it is and just can't get enough of it. The wedded bliss is priceless and we're going to soak it up as much as possible for as long as possible. Oh and I just love calling her my wife!!
Also, when we got home the timing and deal was right so we bought a new 2010 Acura TL! It's a burgundy color, just beautiful and we couldn't be more happy and proud of our hard work and decision!
Life is great and we cannot wait for the next chapter in our lives!!

Here's a little song to help explain the way we feel about each other.

Our big day is 11 days away!!

I'm always surprised at how much time has passed in between blogs! LOL

We're 11 days away from our wedding and couldn't be any more excited! We have been extremely busy with planning, appointments, and everything that comes with planning a wedding! We're also extremely grateful and happy to hear that Prop 8 was overturned and ruled unconstitutional right before our wedding. The timing couldn't have been better! We do realize we still can't obtain a marriage license, but there is NO doubt it's a step in the right direction for us and the LGBT community. This will just be an added bonus and "right", if you will, if we can get the license prior to our wedding, but it hasn't stopped us from moving forward (obviously lol) with our lives, wedding or commitment of any kind, in fact it's pushed us even harder! We're really excited about expressing and showing our Faith, Love & Commitment in front of our friends and family in just 11 days! It will be here before we know it!

We have also been SO busy this summer. We've gone Camping, had the BEST BACHELORETTE BASH EVER!!, BBQ'd with Friends & Family, Played in Downtown Sac, Visited Family in Reno, Enjoyed Lake Day with friends especially on the jet ski! It's been SO much fun, countless memories created and we wouldn't trade it for the world! Forever grateful!

Okay, let's talk about this Bachelorette Bash!!!! To say we had a blast would be the understatement of the year!! It was THE TIME OF OUR LIVES!!! Our wedding party team planned it out an executed it perfectly! It started out with a pool party/BBQ at the Kimpel house, there was fun in the pool, bean bag toss, awesome food and the Perfect Pearsmo's!! Those were delish!! We got to hang out and catch up with many wonderful people, thanks to everyone who came out!

Then the Hummer Limo showed up!! Woo Hoo! The team dressed us up in our Bachelorette sashes and tiara's and all us girls got in and continued the drinking, hey don't judge it was a Bachelorette Party! It whisked us away to Streets of London where we found our selves a table and kept drinking! Even Janae, the yougest sister (20) got to go in because the team made the arrangements!! Her first bar and it was for our Bach!! We then headed to Faces and met up with some party crashers!! Thanks guys! We loved you all being there! We danced our little (ha) butts off! More drinking of course! ;) We then headed back to Roseville and met up with most of the husbands in downtown Roseville. Again, more drinking, please don't roll your eyes! Our Limo took us home and the night was over. The next day wasn't so pleasant, DUH! But totally worth it and we can't believe how much fun we had! Thanks again Bachelorette Planning Team, you all ROCK!

Jen would like to take this moment to mention that she got her first pair of JORDAN'S!!! She is super excited and has wanted them for "her whole life!!" She even wore them to bed the first night, not a joke, she really did! Special thanks to my favorite Baller!

Ok, hopefully this will hold you all over for a bit, not sure if we will post again before the Wedding and Honeymoon, but we will try! And a quick Dunc update: He is currently twitching, barking and wagging his tail in his sleep, thanks for wearing him our Mom, Dad and Janae!

Family Time, Wedding Planning etc!

I cannot believe a month has passed and we haven't blogged! Time flies because it feels like we just did!

In just 34 days we will be walking down the isle to say I will. We can't wait! Plus, I'm a little extra excited to finally have some bling!! ;) My ring is gorgeous! We've done some stuff wedding-wise lately such as, completing the favors (Thank you for your help Christie and Janae), bachelorette officially on July 31st, yes 2 weeks away! OMG! :) Nicole has gone to her first alterations appt and I have done my hair and makeup trial which was AH-Mazing thanks to Lea Buehler! We've received a couple gifts off our registry, so fun and we're so thankful!! We've had a cake trial thanks to Tracy Murphy and it was FABULOUS! Met with our officiant to review our ceremony,

Last weekend we had a lot of fun. On Saturday it was Nicole's dad's birthday! We all went to the River Cats game where they got swept, but it sure was fun & hot! Oh and the beer was good too! :) Then we woke up bright and early Sunday and drove to Clovis to visit the Marina family! That was a blast and boy is baby Ethan a DOLL! He loved us, but not nearly as much as we loved him!! ;) He is such a good baby, they're truly blessed. Their home was extremely inviting and so beautiful of course. We enjoyed each others company til Monday evening when we returned home. Can't wait to see them again!

Yesterday Nicole flew to SoCal for her god-sisters wedding which she said was just beautiful! I'm bummed I couldn't make it, but I have to work and save up all my vacation time for our wedding\honeymoon! It was so weird not sleeping next to her even for one night, but Duncan kept me company and made me feel so loved and protected which helped. Plus, I found 3 lovely little surprises throughout the night and this morning! A beautiful card under my pillow, the mascara left for me and another note in our daily journal! It's kinda crazy, just one night away and it made me miss her so much! It was nice to really have that feeling again though and probably good for us! haha I'm looking forward to her coming home this evening and I'm sure she is too!

This week was a huge workweek for me. I took a HDI Support Center Team Lead course for 2.5 days followed by the exam which I passed along with my colleague! What a huge accomplishment, I'm really proud of myself! Then yesterday I had an interview for the Help Desk Associate III (Senior) position. I think it went really well, I know I did my best so we shall see. If I don't get the first position, there will only be a couple week delay before I get the 2nd opening! I'm ready for a true leadership title and I'm hoping it comes soon! I just want to keep on climbin'! :)

All in all, life is good, wedding planning is a lot of work, but will be worth it! Can't wait to see all the hard work everyone has put into it already paid off!

Okay, off my break now, better jet! Just in case anyone needs the link again to RSVP or get details for the wedding, here it is!

Father's Day weekend

I had to work on Saturday, but when I came home I was so happy to see Nicole had just done some baking after going grocery shopping! Huge improvement in her health and stamina. I was just telling her two days before this how much I missed her baking. Oh the little things.

Yesterday was Father's Day as you know and for the most part it's a tough day for me and I'm sure my Father too. We've only been able to spend a select few Father's Day together since he's in SoCal. It's either a surprise road trip down there or a planned flight when we were younger to celebrate Father's Day and his birthday with him. This year he's got a lot going on, on top of some pretty major health issues and as you all know with the wedding only 60 days away all of our resources are going to that! I'm hoping it won't be this way for much longer and what I mean by that is I hope he moves up here. We did however get to spend it with Nicole's amazing Father, her Grandpa and Father-to-be Jason along with tons of friends and family. It was a wonderful BBQ w\some of the best ribs I've ever had! We also stopped in and wished my awesome Step-Dad Russ a Happy Father's day (with a nice bottle of Crown!!) on our way to Nicole's parents house.

I was really dreading the scale this morning, but I felt pretty good about my technique (AKA Tammy Technique - take a bite or two and throw it away) and it mostly paid off! Nicole and I are only up .5 today! Pretty easy to recover from.. I'm just about headed to the gym and then it's lunch time with Nicole. I think if her exhaustion and coughing subside a little more she'll make it back to the gym this week!

Duncan is wiped out today! Lots of sleeping and tons of snoring along with it! He had so much fun swimming yesterday! I just love our water loving lab!

Amazing things are happening again!

First of all, Nicole is feeling better! She worked 2 full days in a row while struggling with a little exhaustion, but last night the wedding excitement helped her to get through that. I swear we talked more (Gosh I missed that) last night till like 11pm (keep in mind I had to get up @ 5am!) than we had in 2 full weeks combined! It was great for sure! She's still taking it easy, resting as much as possible cause we want this to completely go away!

Secondly, yesterday I hit a new low, well it's a this time around new low. About 2 years ago I had lost 40lbs. After gaining just about half of it back, today & yesterday I'm only 5lbs away from that! THEN, anything beyond that will truly be a NEW low! SO exciting. I've made it to the gym 4 days this week, yesterday was my only resting day and I plan on going today\tomorrow. Going definitely promotes eating right, energy and weight loss of course! It's literally just GOING to the gym. :) Sometimes easier said than done! haha

Thirdly, the Help Desk Analyst III position was just posted at my work & I applied!!This will be a leadership\Senior role and it's something I've been working extremely hard for! It's hopefully 1 of 2 openings as there are 2 of us going for it, but just the 1 so far gives me a 50/50 chance! I'm staying optimistic, but being careful at the same time. I am definitely ready for this! I'll keep you posted!

Fourthly, my sweet sickie Nicole sent me a cute little bouquet of flowers to work yesterday! It was a thank you for taking care of her! :) I'm enjoying them for a second day at work and looking forward to bringing them home to enjoy some more! So love them, thanks Honey!

Lastly, we met with our AWESOME DJ yesterday! DJ Scuba in DA HOUSE! We talked about everything we want and expect and we just know he's gonna kill it! Look forward to dancing your butts off @ our wedding! Yes you too PREGO! ;) We also met with Tracy Murphy, she's kind enough to take on our wedding cake! We've decided to definitely scale back the dessert buffet idea and go with a full on cake. Both super happy with our decision and just know she's going to do a wonderful job on it!

Thanks again everyone for all your thoughts and prayers! They've been received and felt and things are looking better for Duncan's Mommies!

Rough week - Not so great news!

Welp, I'm sick of Nicole being sick! LOL I'm sure she's even more sick of it! We're ready to resume life as we know it and with her and this nasty Pneumonia she's got we just can't! She took a couple steps forward over the weekend, but by Sunday night she took a step back and then this morning was even worse! She tried to work, then went to her follow up appt... not so great afterall. Dr. wasn't very pleased with her progress, she definitely has viral Pneumonia. :/ The antibiotics and Rocephin shot have only givin her immune system a boost, not fixed the problem! They gave her another shot and told her to rest. A few more days off work at least. Fortunately, work is very understanding and there's no worries, they just want her to get well. We're hoping she continues to fight this off as well as she has been (hard to say that, but it's true) on her own so she won't need to be hospitalized. Please keep the prayers and thoughts coming! We've got life, a wedding and all that fun stuff to move forward with!! ;)

My Dad is out of the hospital, it was his COPD (includes Chronic Bronchitis and Emphazyma) and he was just worn down. He's on oxygen and was told to never smoke again. He's on the patch, but he definitely needs strength and will power!

Amie had her little man, Caden Jack VanDenBurg and he's an adorable lil guy! Was 4lbs 11oz and 17inches long. I finally got to go visit her in the hospital and I sure wish she was doing better. Poor thing she's had a lot of complications and just now got Caden in her room. Dr. told her she has got to get some sleep and hopefully now that he's in her room she can rest easy especially with the help of her Mom and Holly!

I've had a 3 day weekend, it was both productive and relaxing, but it's coming to an end. Back to the work grind tomorrow! I start my Sun\Mon off shifts for the next two months, I'm looking forward to it. I enjoy having Sunday's off. It's sort of a family day, Saturday's feel like play days! :) Anyhow, please keep my family and my most important woman in your thoughts and prayers! Everyone needs to get well fast!

Ciao ~ Jen

Day after Dr.'s appt!

Today has been a good good dayyyyy... Nicole is feeling better, did a LOT of resting and drank Water and Gatorade as well as ate pretty good. The coughing, well it's kinda of weirding me out how much it's just not there. I'm crossing my fingers for it to only continue to get better!

I heard from my Dad today and he's no longer in ICU Isolation, but still going to be in the hospital for a few days. He's got Chronic Bronchitis and COPD and was told he can never smoke again for the rest of his life! He says he's done cause he's had 2 full days now and I think because this has scared him half to death, sort of literally. :/ Let's hope he gets well and can stay strong enough to stay sober and smoke free!

WE logged into our knot.com page and it said 70 DAYS!! Can't believe it... as Nicole shouts, WE HAVE A LOT TO DO and I gently remind her, We have everything in place! Which we really do, so I'm not worried! ;) Although she is the wedding GURU so maybe I should be HAHA!

Pneumonia Schneumonia

Our lives have come to a screeching halt in the last week or so since Nicole has become sick with Pneumonia. It all actually started last week with a cough. She happened to be going to the Dr. for something else so she asked about it. Dr. pushed it off as Allergies and put her on a nasal spray, no help whatsoever and on Sat\Sun she started having trouble breathing and the coughing became unbearable. We went to Urgent care Sunday night where they gave her a breathing treatment (helped for about 30 mins) then put her on Antibiotics and an Inhaler, but after being patient and giving it 4 days with no improvement we went back to the Dr. today. They gave her a shot on the booty (very sore) that should "jump start" her body along with a new "Grouping of Antibiotics" which are the strongest and last resort for her. If this doesn't help and get her feeling MUCH better by Sat\Sun we are supposed to go back to Urgent Care. Next step, hospital. We're trying to stay positive, but we miss normalcy and being able to GSD!

I've been working my butt off both @ home and work and I'm ready for my teammate back! I've enjoyed spending a lot of time with Duncan when we go water the garden together, he's my buddy that's for sure. We're trying to work on "Heel" ~ by far the toughest for him... and us. Consistancy is key, we just gotta remember that!

Our garden looks amazing! So much growing! We've had a few REALLY good Strawberries and cannot wait for our Artichokes to be done!

Baby Ethan Chandler Marina is here and he IS CU-UTE! We cannot wait to meet\see\hold him for the first time!!! Congrats to the Marina's on their new blessing! Hopefully this month, of course barring Nicole get well enough to be around them, we can visit them! Next baby up in our life is Amie's little man, CJ - she's already 2 days late! Thoughts\Prayers your way Amie! Sprout Martling is coming along quite nicely - we cannot wait to watch that belly grow and grow!!!! We're so excited to have all these wonderful people in our lives with such awesome little kiddo's all around! We're enjoying it more than you all know!

On the wedding front, again most things have come to halt. We're exploring our cake options for one. For two we just had to reschedule our appt with our Officient for next week. We have an appt with our DJ and have emailed back our response on our floral proposal - Everything is coming along quite nicely! More to come once the Wedding Guru is back in full force!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes for Nicole. They're most definitely needed and appreciated.

I would like to ask for more prayers and thoughts for my Father who was just admitted yesterday to the hospital for Pneumonia. He is now in ICU and Isolated because it's getting worse and they're not totally sure what exactly he has. Fortunately, he has Mary and though I'd like to be there right now, I've gotta take care of my girl.

Goodnight all,

Jen

Less than 3 months!

Well all kinds of great things have been happening and been getting taken care of!

First of all on the family front - Baby Isabella Marie is HERE and as beautiful as ever! Second, we've got Baby Marina on the way, should be here any day! Third, Baby Caden will be here in a couple weeks and Last, but not least - Danielle and Jason are expecting, baby SPROUT due in Dec! We're so glad to have all these babies around us and want of these wonderful parents and mommy-daddy-to-be's to know we're here for you! ~ Happy Auntie's!!

We had a great trial run for a dessert buffet, but man was that exhausting and TONS of work. We've decided to change ours up for our wedding as a result. We're definitely going to do less ourselves and are working on getting a cake done from some friends.

Both of our dresses are in and FIT! Nicole got her veil and shoes as well and everything is a GO! We're still working on the dieting\working out plan, we've had some setbacks however. I hurt my back when we were going to the gym 3-4 times a week and that put a damper for sure in my work out. I've been going to the Chiropractor for about 5 weeks now and so far not very much pain relief and I'm losing patience. I'm sticking to it and have since decided I'm going to work out anyway and muscle through this pain in hopes the Chiropractor will be able to work on that! I really enjoy the gym, it doesn't feel like a chore. It's very difficult to find time though in our busy schedules. We're going to have to sacrifice a little bit to fit it in more. The last two weeks we literally had 1 free night, it's insane!~ The schedule is looking better though! :) Nicole's weight loss is going great, I think she's down about 16lbs and I'm about 13lbs or so. We're really proud of ourselves because it's not easy and boy one bad weekend can put on 3-5lbs! LOL

On Friday I turned in my Passport application 4-6 weeks to get it in and we're going to Curacao for our Honeymoon! Man that's far from home, but I'll be with my wife so I just know everything will be great!

Yesterday we finished our invitations, what an accomplishment! Thanks to all of you involved in helping us, much appreciated. Janae we hope you get better! :)

Currently, I'm @ work and Nicole is @ her makeup trial in Auburn with her Mom and Danielle... all of this is SO exciting!

That's to catch you all up! Many more details to follow, everything else is great - just plugging along planning for the BIG DAY!

My First Baking Photo Tutorial!

As some of you may know I LOVE baking and I LOVE baking blogs!! Some of my favorites are Bake @ 350, Bakerella and I am baker. These women are incredible and do these awesome photo tutorials that are so helpful and have taught me so much!! So I decided to do one of my own! I made these super cute Cake Pop Chicks for Easter, Bakerella's are way cuter than mine but practice makes perfect! And they got rave reviews from those that ate them! So here it goes!

Ingredients:
1 box cake mix (cook as directed on box for 13 X 9 cake)
1 can frosting (16 oz.)
Wax paper
Yellow candy melts (1 lb. pkg.)
Edible ink pens (Americolor pens are recommended, I used the Betty Croker version and now I know why)
Candy decorations (will discuss this later on down the blog)

I chose to use a Rainbow Chips cake and frosting but these can be made with any cake/frosting combo!

Bake the cake as directed on the box and let it cool.
Destroy it! LOL Crumble it up into a bowl.

Add about 3/4 of the jar of frosting and mix together. It will be a gooey ball of yumminess!

Roll the gooiness into quarter size balls and put on a wax paper covered cookie sheet. Freeze them for at least an hour, I did mine overnight.

Melt a small amount of the chocolate to use as glue for the sticks, dip them in the chocolate and then insert them into the cake pops about 1/2 way.

Melt the candy coating

Dip each cake pop into the candy coating and stick into styrofoam blocks to hold them up. You can also make them upside down, just place them on a sheet of wax paper.

FYI....Putting them in glasses DOES NOT WORK! LOL

Let them harden and now its time to decorate! Bakerella uses rainbow candy coated chips for her beaks and wings. And Little flowers for their feet. I didn't have those so I improvised. Hers are way cuter than mine!! We called them little nerdy chicks with their big noses!

I then put them in a basket with some Easter grass and was ready to go!!
Enjoy making them and let me know if you do and how they came out!

Vacation, Wedding planning, Gym, Reviews, Dad etc..

So much has happened since our last post, but I'm going to try and catch up here.

In February we went on an AMAZING cruise! What a vacation!! I'm a cruiser for life that's for sure! We enjoyed all the time with Nicole's family and all the fun we had together. SOOO many memories! The food (to be expected) was wonderful and there was plenty! We did an ATV excursion in Puerto Vallarta - A BLAST. Nicole will have to tell you about her rolling her QUAD IN THE WATER!!! LOL We visited the Golden Zone in Mazatlan - not the best experience. On my ACTUAL birthday, we did a City Tour and Beach excursion in CABO!! Some of us smoked cigars and drank Dos Equis on the beach and others snorkeled, it was the most beautiful day and none of us wanted to leave!! I'm sure we'll all be back to Cabo one day!

The day we got off the ship was my wonderful sister Lisa's wedding! It was so beautiful and we're so happy for her and Chad! The way she looked, glowed and the way she wore her dress was very inspiring to me. I wasn't going to wear a dress, but because of her I went and tried them on, and fell in love with one! Thanks to Kara for all of your help and thanks Lisa for truly inspiring me with how beautiful you looked! I can only hope I look & feel half as beautiful as you on my wedding day!~

After we got back, literally on the flight home Nicole said "Are you ready?", WEDDING planning has been non-stop! We're loving every minute of it, except the tense and stressful times of course, but we're making such good progress:

  • We've met with our Coordinator @ the Hyatt. Finalized room layout and some other things like the Cigar LOUNGE!! Timing, Chairs, Ceremony set up etc..
  • We also got the Save the Dates out, what a chore and thanks to everyone involved & we are SO happy with them!
  • We just got our Dance Floor mat thingy - SO cute.
  • Both wedding dresses are purchased on on their way! (TOO EXCITING)
  • Our girls dresses are all picked out and most if not everyone has theirs! Great job girls!!
  • We're meeting with Bartlett's Flowers on Saturday, it would have been last Saturday, but Ms. Nicole had QUITE the hangover to say the least. LOL This is exciting especially for me because this is where if anywhere, I'm willing to SPLURGE!! Budget what? JK! I like the amount we have budgeted for flowers, it will be neat to see what they can do for us!

Work has been extremely wonderful for me lately. After our cruise I had an annual review. It was a great review for sure. I received a generous raise and in this economy I'm seriously extremely grateful. It's really nice when hard work pays off, but I didn't really expect anything given the times we're in. Also, this morning I was just nominated for the Q4 IT Catch The Spirit award - SO awesome and again very humbling to hear what people think of my work ethic. My company is great and I'm very happy here; Looking forward to the future @ WSI! Work for Nicole from what I know is just insanely busy! She never has a spare moment right now and it's keeping her on her toes!

Another thing, we got GYM MEMBERSHIPS! This was a first for me and so far I'm really liking it. It's been great and once I get some of this weight off I'm sure I'll use more of the machines. Nicole really enjoys the classes! We're eating healthy and really close to having our cruise weight off. Believe it or not I only gained 4.5lbs and Nicole 4 on the cruise. She is only .5lbs away from hers and I'm 2.5 - we're doing good with it though!

Finally, about my Dad.. he is doing phenomenal!! He has checked into rehab for the first time in his life. It's a Faith based rehab and it has so far changed him for the better. It's only been 1 week, but I've never experienced him with the state of mind he's in right now. It's just amazing!! They have him on the right medicine, the right track and sober! He's been sober since February and he was just barely hanging on so he decided after almost 6 weeks of sobriety that he needed more and good for him because he is doing great! SO proud of him and so happy!! For those of you reading this, I ask that you say a prayer for him, it can only help! He needs strength and courage to continue on with this! We've talked a couple times now and it's so nice to hear him say things like.. "Your Dad is coming out of this thing a winner!" and "I never want to miss another thing in my life. I will be at your wedding and the birth of Bub's child SOBER" - he's never talked this way before - always flown by the seat of his pants, but this time something has definitely clicked!!

That's all for now - check out our Facebook page (JenandNic Sheldon) for Pics from the Cruise if you haven't already and also be sure to visit our knot.com page & sign the guestbook too!

On a roll like butta'

We're on a roll like butta' baby! PSO!! We officially paid off the 3rd credit card and tonight will schedule the final payment for Nicole's ring! This is huge. This will really help us in so many ways as we prepare to buy a 2nd home!

We're stoked for our cruise which is 4 days away! Looking forward to 11 days off of work, cannot wait!!! We did some shopping this last week and pretty much have everything we need to pack for it. It's gonna be fun. Plus, the visit to So Cal to see my sister get married and to visit with friends and family will be an added bonus at the end of our vacation.

Dieting? Umm not so much, last week we were SO bad practically all week. We ate out all week long because we didn't go to the grocery store! Plus, I decided Monday of last week that I wasn't going to weigh until each Monday, BAD BAD BAD idea for me (us). Weighing each and every day really helps us, it's a great reminder and we're going to get back to that. It's funny how we stopped right before the cruise, when we should have amplified it, but it's hard already knowing you're going to gain 5lbs or more on the cruise! It will be on after our cruise. I have some great things in mind.

Today I received a wonderful compliment from a Store Associate and I'd like to share it with you, it definitely started my day off right and really humbled me to know that this is what he felt!

From my Manager - Congratulations are in Order
All,

Please join me in congratulating Jen Sheldon on the rave review she just received from Robert in store 711.
Robert took time out of his busy day to let me know that Jen is:
Phenomenally Supportive
Professional
Sensitive
Treats us like we know our systems
Carries through quickly and professionally

Thank you Jen for your representation of what Store Support aspires every day to be!

In response from my Supervisor -
Jen,

This is great, but I can’t say I’m surprised. This is the type of service that you deliver on each and every call. You continue to be the model of customer service for the Service Desk.

It's nice to receive praise like this every once in awhile. I'm truly grateful for my job and I love what I do and I think it shows!

Pay off time!

All tax returns received and by April Nicole just needs to send off her $45 to State!
We're right on track with everything I mentioned in the last post and it feels great. Paying a year of HOA was a little painful (2400 almost), but worth it when we don't have to send that stupid 200 check every month I suppose. We also paid off credit cards the Dave Ramsey way! Start with the smallest and we've done 2 already. 1 more is scheduled and the other is Nicole's ring which will be paid off before our cruise around it's due date. What a relief! We should (key word lol) be able to pay off our bigger ones with ease after not having to make payments on all that crap listed above!

Tonight is the Full Circle Gala and we're really looking forward to it! Nicole has worked her tail off on it and it will be so nice to see it all come together. I really think the Silent Auction will be a success! We're going to look so cute tonight; Nicole will look STUNNING I just know it! We've never really been to a formal event together I don't think... :)

Cruisin' soon!

Where to start, where to start?!

Welp, first things first, Nicole and I are TOTALLY looking forward to our cruise. I've come a long way with the excitement, but I'm truly excited and cannot wait for it! I'm in need of some serious chill and relaxation time and I'm determined to get it while to go on our Mexican Riviera Voyage!! Looking forward to Feb 13th, that's departure date!

Secondly, we had a nice 3 day weekend @ the Marina household! Their house is beautiful and everyone should see it!! Christie's little belly is so cute! We really enjoyed our time especially "Put your hands in the air!" or "Can I move the car a little closer?" LOL ;) Ruth's Chris has amazing food, but they will definitely need to redeem themselves in the service department! Can't wait to see them again (Thanks again you guys)

Things in the Kimpel-Sheldon household are just humming along. Our taxes are done and now it's time to PSO (Pay shit off!!) I got both my Federal and State return deposited today and Nicole's should be coming any time now. We are excited to pay off 3 credit cards, plus Nicole's engagement ring along with a full year of HOA! This will be a huge monthly savings and we'll be able to tackle our last 2 and biggest credit cards within the next 6 months to be all done before our wedding! The fun part will be redoing our bedroom. We're going to do it on about a 500 budget and we just need bedding and paint! Yay for blue\gray and white! :) We're very grateful for our large return and we feel very fortunate to be able to take care of business with it. Hope everyone was as lucky as us with their return and if not, hope the hit wasn't too big!

After our cruise we have my sister and Chad's wedding, the timing couldn't have worked out any better! It's literally the day we get off the ship in LA! We can't wait! It's going to be gorgeous! ;)

No big updates on the wedding plans really. Stay tuned! I'm sure this will all change soon and especially after our cruise! (from what I'm being told any way LOL)

There's a potential puppy in the works for after our cruise too... we love Janae too much to give her a 7th dog\2nd puppy to care for while we cruise!! ;)

Here's to big things in February!!
